Terms and conditions of sale

1. Definitions

• “Company” refers to Blaze Firewood
• “Customer” refers to any individual or business purchasing products from the Company.
• “Products” include kiln-dried hardwood, air-dried hardwood, softwood, and mixed firewood.
• “Log Store” means the final storage location specified by the Customer for stacked firewood.

2. Orders and Payment

• All orders are subject to availability and acceptance by the Company.
• Prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable unless otherwise stated.
• Payment is due at the time of order unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• The Company accepts payment via approved online payment methods, bank transfer, cheque or cash.

3. Delivery and Stacking

3.1 Standard Delivery

• Deliveries are typically made within 7 working days of order confirmation.
• Delivery charges may apply depending on size of order and distance from our yard
• It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure clear and safe access for delivery. If access is restricted or unsafe, delivery may be postponed, and a charge may apply.

3.2 Bag Tipping and Return

• Unless the stacking service is booked and paid for in advance, logs will be tipped out loose at the nearest accessible location and the delivery bag will be taken away.
• Bags are the property of the Company and are not left with the Customer unless otherwise arranged.

3.3 Stacking Service

• A stacking service is available at £17.50 per bag, which includes moving logs from the delivery point to the log store using wheelie bins or equivalent, assuming easy access.
• “Easy access” means a clear, flat route with few steps, steep inclines, or long distances (under 25 metres from van to log store).
• Additional charges will apply for:
  • Large flights of stairs.
  • Distances greater than 25 metres from the van to the log store.
  • Narrow, obstructed, or uneven access routes.
• Additional labour or time-intensive stacking requests may be subject to further costs, which will be discussed and agreed upon in advance where possible.

4. Quality and Quantity

• The Company supplies firewood by volume, not by weight.
• Moisture content for kiln-dried hardwood is typically below 20% at the time of dispatch.
• Wood is a natural product; variation in size, shape, species mix, and appearance is to be expected.
• The Customer is responsible for selecting the appropriate type of firewood for their specific needs.

5. Returns and Refunds

• Firewood is a perishable and consumable product and cannot be returned unless found to be defective or not as described.
• Any issues with the delivered goods must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
• Refunds or replacements are issued at the Company’s discretion following inspection.

6. Cancellations

• Orders may be cancelled free of charge if notice is given at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery.
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before delivery may be subject to a cancellation fee.

7. Liability

• The Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage from the use of the Products.
• The Customer is responsible for safe storage and proper use of firewood after delivery.
• The Company shall not be liable for delivery delays caused by weather, vehicle issues, road closures, or other events beyond its control.

8. Health and Safety

• Firewood should be handled with care. Gloves and appropriate lifting techniques are recommended.
• Firewood should be stored in a dry, ventilated area, away from ignition sources or flammable materials.

9. Changes to Terms

The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers are advised to review them regularly.

By placing an order with Blaze Firewood, the Customer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including the delivery, stacking, and bag return policies.
